About Me

Makenna Benson is a sophomore from Howard County, Maryland and is studying Architecture at the University of Maryland. She will also be exploring minors in art history and sustainability. She loves all forms of art, including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, and sewing. Throughout her time in the art scholars program she hopes to meet lots of new people and explore new types of art along the way. She started to work towards this goal by becoming a peer mentor for the scholars program. After graduating with her bachelor's degree in architecture, she will go on to get her masters in architecture. Throughout her academic journey, she hopes to explore aspects of historical preservation and sustainability in architecture.
